You can thank our longtime friend and cocktail collaborator, Brian Bartels, for this unique and satisfying Old Fashioned variation. Peanuts and coffee are often tasting notes found in a good whiskey, which makes this infused rye so ingenious.
Ingredients
- 2 oz peanut and coffee bean infused Rye Whiskey (we love Redemption Rye)*
- ¼ oz simple syrup OR 1 sugar cube, muddled
- 2 dashes Hella Aromatic Bitters
- 2 dashes Hella Orange Bitters
- Orange and lemon peel twist, for garnish
- ½ cup unsalted peanuts
- ¼ cup decaf coffee beans
- 1 bottle of rye whiskey
Infused Rye Whiskey
Directions
- Combine ingredients in a glass and cover with ice.
- Stir gently until cold and garnish with an expressed lemon and orange peel, twisted together.
Infused Rye Whiskey
- In one 750 ml bottle of Rye Whiskey, combine peanuts and coffee beans.
- Allow 12 hours for infusion, but taste periodically to gauge desired flavor.
